In our Opinion, Something to Think About…

  1. When installing a new 1.6 Gallon or less Toilet please use a Pressure Assisted Flushing Toilet. With a Gravity Flush Toilet depending on the matter being flushed and the Toilet Manufacture being used there are time when it has to be flushed two or three times defeating its purpose.
  2. Seriously think about purchasing a Elongated Bowl Toilet versus a Round Bowl Toilet, the reason being they are more Sanitary and a lot more comfortable. I realize they are more expensive but they are well worth it. The most Sanitary Toilet is a Solid One Piece Toilet with an Elongate Bowl but they are expensive.
  3. Other Toilets to think about are Toilets that are Dual Flushing Toilets, that is they have two Buttons one for flushing clear Liquids and the other for flushing Solid Materials.
  4. There also are High Efficiency Toilets (HET) Toilet that flush with One and 1.2 Gallons of Water. But there is still some controversy about how well these Toilet Work.
  5. Depending on the distance of the farthest Fixture that requires Hot Water from the Water Heater, think about installing a Hot Water recirculation Loop. It Saves Water, Energy, Money and also helps to prevent premature filling of Septic Systems if applicable.
  6. We do not recommend the use Drain Cleaning Products as these products in most case don’t work and they can be harmful. And in some case can be dangerous especially when a Plumber has to come out and clean out the Drains.
  7. When having Water Treatment Equipment installed, consider being placed on a Maintenance Schedule so that the Equipment can be maintained in a timely and efficient manner to maintain the optimum efficiency of the Equipment. Whether they are Water Softeners, Acid Neutralizers, Filters and or other types of Treatment Equipment.
  8. Septic Systems depending upon your location if Sewers are not Available you will have to use a Septic System. One of the biggest threats to a Septic System is the Grease from Soap it Coats the Walls and Bottoms of the Trenches and or Beds of the System and eventually cuts the absorption rate of the liquid through the Trenches and Beds. To help preserve the Life Expectancy of the Septic System we like to install an in the Ground Grease Trap that will accept the Drainage form the Kitchen Sink, Dishwasher and Washing Machine. It can then empty into the Septic System for the House and have it own System.
  9. Cleanout Fittings you just can’t have enough. We like to place them under the Kitchen Sink, Bathroom Sink and and wherever we can place them in the Basement, Crawl Space and Outside of the House so that there is easy Access to clean out the Drain, Sewer and Vent Piping.
